Several years back, the Philippine Board of Orthodontics was run by a select group of individuals who had seemingly unattainable goals for the future of their specialty in the country. Today, the PBO has become an institution. It has gradually grown in number to include all those who believe that being in a specialty requires hard work and determination. Today, the PBO is the only Filipino Orthodontic examination group recognized by the World Federation of Orthodontists to grant diplomate status to qualified members. 

As globalization has made international recognition by legitimate Orthodontic organizations more and more imperative, the conferment of Diplomate status to deserving practitioners becomes a valuable tool in setting a standard of excellence in the country.

We, therefore, encourage our beloved APO members to strive for this esteemed certification. After all, with the countless years that we have spent trying to improve our craft, what would be most fitting to add to our unending list of accomplishments? We are extending our warm welcome to all those who would like to be part of the PBO. May we all be united in our aspiration to become the best orthodontic practitioners, not just in the Philippines, but in the entire world.
